Prof. Dr. Dieter Rexroth 06.03.1941–09.04.2024

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend and artistic director Prof. Dr. Dieter Rexroth. His appetite for innovation extended far beyond music. His humor, his curiosity, his enthusiasm combined with his virtually infinite knowledge enriched and inspired us. His love for music and his dedication to young musicians has shaped Young Euro Classic for over 25 years. But above all, in our hearts, he was and remains a wonderful person. We will celebrate him with every note played at this year’s edition of Young Euro Classic.

Musical Elite from Philadelphia

Experience some exceptional young musical talents from the USA at the Konzerthaus Berlin on May 31. The four graduates of the renowned Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia perform an enchanting programme, focusing on the romantic trio for violin, cello and piano entitled Saans by the Indian-American composer Reena Esmail. The programme also features Felix Mendelssohn’s first published composition, the charming Piano Quartet No. 1 in C-minor, and Antonín Dvořák’s ingenious Piano Quartet No. 2 in E-flat-major.
