The Portuguese composer Pedro Lima Soares, born in Braga in 1994, studied at the local Conservatory Calouste Gulbenkian, where he graduated with a degree in clarinet, piano and percussion performance. He began studying composition in 2009 and is currently enrolled at the Music Academy in Lisbon, where he studies with João Madureira, António Pinho-Vargas, Sérgio Azevedo, Carlos Caires and Luís Tinoco. His compositions range from Stuttering (2011) for solo flute, Pontes Inacabadas (Unfinished Bridges, 2012) for chamber sextet and other recent chamber music works such as Síndroma do pôr do sol (Sunset Syndrome, 2014) and Dialogos (also 2014) for marimba and vibraphone. His music/video project entitled Metro, Paris had its world premiere in Braga in 2012.
