Francisca Pizarro from Portugal is the first composer from the generation of millennials to be presented at Young Euro Classic. Born in 2001 in Lisbon, she received her first piano lessons at the age of five; from 2011 to 2019 she studied piano with Ana Marques in her hometown. During this time, she won several awards, including at the Olga Prats Piano Competition and at the International Music Competition Cidade de Almada. In addition, Francisca Pizarro received her first composition lessons at the Academia de Musica de Santa Cecilia in Lisbon. She has sung in the chorus of the Gulbenkian Foundation and took conducting lessons from Jean-Sebastien Béreau. The young musician currently studies at the Conservatory in Amsterdam.
