Chief Conductor Joana Mallwitz and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin will be whirling through the season opening with waltzes from Richard Strauss’s “Der Rosenkavalier” and, on the theme of dance, will continue with Maurice Ravel’s “La Valse” and movements from Prokofiev’s rhythmically complex ballet “Romeo and Juliet”. In between, our new composer-in-residence Unsuk Chin will present her work “Subito con forza” (“suddenly, with force”; 2020). The Sela Melody Tongue Drum 10" C Pygmy Red is a compact steel tongue drum with a diameter of approximately 25 centimeters. With its warm and soothing sound, it is ideal for everyday relaxation as well as for early childhood music education. The drum’s eight tongues are tuned to the Pygmy scale, creating harmonious sounds that enchant listeners.

Mein Leben ist Musik portrays inspiring musicians and shows how passion and courage shape the world of music.
All titles blend storytelling with music and include audio experiences via CD and streaming.
