The Schorfheide Wildlife Park is located near Groß Schönebeck in the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve and was founded in 1996.
It covers an area of about 105 hectares and is home to many native animal species.
These include, among others, otters, red deer, fallow deer, and wild boars.
Visitors can also observe wolves, European bison, moose, lynxes, and Przewalski’s horses. In addition to wild animals, rare and endangered domestic animal breeds are also bred there.
A network of hiking trails of about 7 kilometers runs through the park’s large open enclosures.
The visitor center also features a wolf information center, and nearby there is a petting zoo and a forest playground.
